Propitiation: Christ’s atoning sacrifice as our substitute, Christ is both the sacrifice and the place of sacrifice. It is through that particular sacrifice that God’s just wrath against sin is addressed and is averted by Christ’s death for us.

He also serves as assistant editor of the Southern Baptist Journal of Theology.
